Guidelines for 501(C)(3) Arts & Cultural Organizations

  • First Application Period: November 19, 2023 - January 30, 2024

  • Eligibility Requirements:

    • Applicants must have been in business and operating for two years before applying;

    • Applicants must be active 501(C)(3) organizations with IRS form 990 on file;

    • Organizations must be actively engaged in arts and cultural programming in Gwinnett County

  • Eligible Expenses: This reimbursement grant is limited to: Rent, Utilities, and Venue Rentals. Eligible expenses must have been incurred in 2023.

  • Award Amounts:

    • Budgets $2 million & greater, maximum award $25,000

    • Budgets $1 million-$2 million, maximum award $20,000

    • Budgets $500,000-$999,000, maximum award $15,000

    • Budgets $250,000-$499,000, maximum award $10,000

    • Budgets under $250,000, maximum award $5,000

      *Please note, applicants should submit for the maximum award offered per category. However, full funding may not be available dependent on number of applications.

  • Required attachments: 

    • IRS Exempt Determination Letter indicating 501(C)(3) status

    • IRS Form W-9

    • Rental Lease (Lessee must be the organization applying; Countersigned current document required)

      • Venue rental can be administrative offices as well as event venue rental.

      • Rent and utilities cannot be applied for work from home spaces.

    • Utility Bill(s)

      • Rent and utilities cannot be applied for work from home spaces.

    • Receipt of Payment(s)

    • Proof of Payment (bank statements required)

  • Orientation: First-time applicants must attend a virtual orientation prior to submitting application.
